In memory of Freya Tess White

By Kirsten White

Every little life matters and deserves to be celebrated

I created this page for Say Their Name Day to raise funds for Red Nose so they can continue their important work supporting bereaved families across Australia.

If you can support my fundraiser, you will be helping to bring care and comfort to families when they need it most.

Every dollar raised helps support bereaved families by making sure every family has access to the information and networks they need to move forward and rebuild their lives, now and in the future.

That means timely access to information resources, an understanding voice on the end of the phone, and an ongoing connection with other families through support groups and remembrance activities.

So please, help me raise much-needed funds to ensure every bereaved family has access to the support they need, for as long as they need it.

Thank you.

My Updates

Freya

Friday 9th Feb
Our Freya was born on the 29.09.23 at 1:02am. She weighed 2.440kg and was 43cm long, she was also born on her due date. Freya aspirated a significant amount of meconium and had to be ventilated for the entirety of her short life. After some genetic testing, it was discovered that Freya had an extremely rare genetic condition called Kenny Caffey Syndrome type 2 (she was the 61st person in the world to be diagnosed with it). What this meant was that she would have been a bit shorter than most, may have some mineral deficiencies (calcium, potassium, phosphorus) which would have needed to monitored, some dental and eye issues but would have led a somewhat normal life. Our poor baby fought so fiercely for 7weeks and 3 days but passed away in the early hours of 21.11.23. We were lucky enough to have those weeks with our Freya where we got to know her cheeky personality, and that she had her mama’s attitude when she would give the NICU nurses a side eye. We got to see her smile and she would do the sweetest little dance with her arms and legs when she heard us enter the room. She loved her mama’s milk and would start sucking the tube when the music of the warmer would go off.  Our Freya made such an impact on everyone who knew her,  and we are so incredibly proud of her and grateful she chose us as her parents. I love you forever my Freya xx
