In loving memory...

By Kymberley Morgan

I do not wish for my donation to appear on the memory wall.

Every little life matters and deserves to be celebrated

I created this page for Say Their Name Day to raise funds for Sands and Red Nose so they can continue their important work supporting bereaved families across Australia.

If you can support my fundraiser, you will be helping to bring care and comfort to families when they need it most.

Every dollar raised helps support bereaved families by making sure every family has access to the information and networks they need to move forward and rebuild their lives, now and in the future.

That means timely access to information resources, an understanding voice on the end of the phone, and an ongoing connection with other families through support groups and remembrance activities.

So please, help me raise much-needed funds to ensure every bereaved family has access to the support they need, for as long as they need it.

Thank you.

Lukas's story

Wednesday 24th Mar
Lukas James was born on 18/10/2020. We always knew that Lukas was going to be born with gastroschisis (an abnormality of the abdominal wall where the baby is born with their intestines on the outside of their body). Although gastroschisis is not a very common condition it also is not extremely rare either so we were always optimistic and sure that we would still be taking Lukas home with us.  He was due to be born in the 09/01/2021 at 37weeks I was going to be induced but unfortunately as we all know sometimes things don't always go to plan. Lukas was excited to meet the world a little bit to early. He came into this world 104 days early weighing just 405 grams. Quite honestly no one thought he was coming out of that delivery room alive, but my god little man did you prove everybody wrong!

You gave your dad and I 14 unforgettable days to make a lifetimes worth of memories with you. The NICU is an indescribable place, unless you've been there for yourself you just couldn't understand. Every hour feels like a minute and it's like you can just never get enough time with your precious little human.  We made some unbelievable memories one of my favorites being the day I watched you open your eyes for the very first time. Those memories are to be held deeply in our hearts, just like you Lukas.

Although his life was not a long one he taught us both what the true meaning of courage is. The resilience & strength he showed day after day was something to truly be admired, and not just by us but by everyone who was destined to meet Lukas. He was and forever will be our little warrior, our little ray of sonshine.

We will be forever grateful for every single second we got to know and love Lukas. He will always be out first born son and we will ALWAYS talk about him. He changed our lives in ways we could have never imagined but we will always love you Lukas and miss you endlessly.

All our love bub mum and dad 💙
