In loving memory...

By Taryn Ashton

I do not wish for my donation to appear on the memory wall.

Every little life matters and deserves to be celebrated

I created this page for Say Their Name Day to raise funds for Sands and Red Nose so they can continue their important work supporting bereaved families across Australia.

If you can support my fundraiser, you will be helping to bring care and comfort to families when they need it most.

Every dollar raised helps support bereaved families by making sure every family has access to the information and networks they need to move forward and rebuild their lives, now and in the future.

That means timely access to information resources, an understanding voice on the end of the phone, and an ongoing connection with other families through support groups and remembrance activities.

So please, help me raise much-needed funds to ensure every bereaved family has access to the support they need, for as long as they need it.

Thank you

Taryn, Gerard, Oscar and Hugo Ashton

My Updates

Our Story

Tuesday 15th Mar
I had just had a full ultrasound at 36 weeks and saw our third little boy moving around and everything was fine (we didn’t know his gender yet). Then two days later had an obstetrician appointment and saw him on ultrasound again and he looked as perfect as ever.
Just two days later I realised I hadn’t felt him move for a little while - and he was a big mover!
We went into the hospital to get checked out and when they tried to put the CTG on they couldn’t find a heartbeat. So we were sent around for an ultrasound and I just had a terrible feeling. The ultrasound confirmed our worst fear - there was no heartbeat.
Myles was delivered that evening at 36 weeks 4 days and they found that his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck twice, very tightly. It was deemed that his death was a cord accident.
He was perfect. He looked like a little angel sleeping. We got to keep Myles with us for the duration of my stay in hospital thanks to a cuddle cot.
And we were able to get some beautiful family photos taken by Heartfelt, an organisation who have volunteer photographers who will come and take these precious photos. They are so important to be able to look back at and remember your sweet baby.
We will say his name - Myles Arthur Ashton - on 25th March for ‘say their name day’ and remember and love him always
